Final Fantasy XIV offers a massive map for players to explore. However, things can get pretty tough if you travel on foot. Therefore, learning how to get a mount in Final Fantasy XIV is extremely important, as it can make travelling easier and save time.
How can I unlock a mount in Final Fantasy XIV?
To unlock a mount, you will need to first reach level 20 by progressing through the main story quests. The game will then ask you to join a Grand Company. You will be presented with three options, and you must choose from one of them. The options you’ll get include The Order of the Twin Adder in Gridiania, The Immortal Flames from Ul’dah, and the Maelstrom from Limsa Lominsa.
You can choose from any of the three Grand Companies after doing your research, as all three will help you get a mount. Once done, you’ll need to complete a quest called ‘The Company You Keep,’ which will introduce you to your chosen company.
Your next goal should be to keep completing the quests for your company until you get a quest called ‘My Little Chocobo.’ To complete this quest, you will have to get the Chocobo Issuance and hand it over to a character in your company.
However, getting the Chocobo Issuance is not easy, as it can only be purchased from the Grand Company Quartermaster for 200 Company Seals.
If you haven’t been doing them before, we suggest you complete Grand Company Hunting Logs, FATEs, and Duty Roulletes. These can help you quickly get tons of Company Seals. Furthermore, we also recommend them for levelling up fast in Final Fantasy XIV.
After you’ve purchased the item, visit the NPC in the Chocobokeep and hand over the item to him. As a reward, you’ll receive the Chocobo Whistle. You can use this to summon your first mount in Final Fantasy XIV and start travelling with ease.
