As a detective in Shadows of Doubt, you’re nothing without a case to solve. Cases will have you track down clues, question people, and ultimately end with you catching a suspect, but finding one in the procedurally generated world is a task in and of itself.
If you’re a down on your luck private eye looking for your next job, here’s how to get cases in Shadows of Doubt.
How to get cases in Shadows of Doubt
There are several ways to get a case in the game. Once you start the game, you’ll get your first murder case through the scanner. These will show up after you complete a side mission. As for finding a case yourself, you’ll need to head to a bar or diner.
Once inside, find the notice board area, you’ll know you’re in the right place when you see a sign with an outline of a phone in green. The area is cluttered with notes and an old-fashioned landline telephone. Check the notice board with Right Click and choose a Job Listing among the notes.
Going to city hall is another way to land a case. The building is marked by a city hall sign outside. Make your way toward the box of papers to select a case. Search through the bin by inspecting with Right Click and find a case you’d like to work on.
What is a case in Shadows of Doubt?
A case, or a Job Listing is how you make money as a detective in Shadows of Doubt. They’ll either help you find the serial killer running havoc in the city or are side missions you can do to make extra cash. You’ll need funding to pay your medical bills if you get hurt. Or you can buy lockpicks to open locked doors during your investigations. With the world being procedurally generated, no case will be the same and you’ll find dozens of them while you play.
