How to heal in Hogwarts Legacy

The most effective and universal way of healing in Hogwarts Legacy is with Wiggenweld Potions. These handy little potions replenish a decent portion of your health and are a speedy way of recovering health, especially while in combat.

If you want to quickly use one of these healing potions, there’s an easy way of doing so. If you’re using the the default binds, here’s how to heal yourself with this potion drink:

There are a couple of alternative ways to making sure you’re healed up in Hogwarts Legacy, which we’ll discuss below. It’s always a good idea to be stocked up on Wiggenweld potions regardless. Each heal uses one potion at a time and you can carry up to 25 at any time.

You can buy Wiggenweld potions from J. Pippin’s Potions in Hogsmeade. Alternatively, you can also find them in chests, dropped enemy loot, or by brewing some yourself in the Room of Requirement. That will require some ingredients, which are as follows:

  • 1x Horklump Juice
  • 1x Dittany Leaves

How to heal in Hogwarts Legacy without potions

If you find that you’re always low on Wiggenweld potions or simply want some alternative ways to help replenish your health, let’s learn more about it. Although we see the potions as the main source of health regeneration, it’s nice to have some alternatives.

Auto-recovery healing

This one is simple and will save you wasting potions when you don’t need to use them following a tough battle. You health simply regenerates over time while you’re out of combat and find yourself on low health. This is common immediately after being involved in some heavy combat.

Healing with a Dark Arts talent

Now for something a little more proactive. If you choose to follow the path of the Dark Arts in the Dark Arts skill tree, you’ll eventually have access to Curse Sapper (Level 22 required), a form of lifesteal. If you’re commonly using Dark Arts spells and cursing your enemies, the Curse Sapper talent is well worth getting. Defeating a cursed enemy will restore health back to you directly.

Can you die in Hogwarts Legacy?

Yes, you can die in Hogwarts Legacy; your health can only hold on for so long after spamming Wiggenweld potions. There are definitely quite a few fearsome enemies to deal with, even early on in the game. In fact, you may find yourself dying relatively often while you’re still getting used to the game’s combat mechanics. Expect to meet some foes which can deal some chunky damage right off the bat.

Luckily, that doesn’t mean you’ll lose too much progress though. The game isn’t as hardcore as some other RPGs out there.
