Just like past Zelda titles, in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, your stamina and health matter. Each Heart Container or Stamina Vessel that you receive gets you one step closer to defeating Demon King Ganon.
The key to gaining more health is slightly different than past Zelda titles and instead relies on a similar method used in Breath of the Wild. This guide will show you how to increase your stamina and health in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
How to upgrade health and stamina in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
If you want to upgrade your health and stamina in Tears of the Kingdom, you will want to collect Lights of Blessing and bring them to the Goddess Statue in the Temple of Time.
When you start the game, you will wake up on the Great Sky Island. After finding your way and completing a few shrines, you will reach the Temple of Time where the Goddess Statue resides.
During the tutorial, you will obtain four Lights of Blessing. When given to the Goddess Statue, you will get an increase in your maximum hearts. When you return later in the game with more blessings, you will be able to choose whether you want to increase the number of hearts or stamina bars you have. Each increase will cost you four Lights of Blessing.
You will also gradually get increases in your health and stamina as you progress through the main quest of the game. There are multiple dungeons in Hyrule that you will go to during the story. Completing these dungeons will earn you heart and stamina containers.
How to get golden stamina wheels and hearts in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
Another way to increase your health and stamina is by taking advantage of food and inns. Cooking is a great way to give yourself temporary hearts and stamina bars. Temporary health appears as golden hearts and will disappear after getting damaged. An extra golden stamina bar will disappear after being used.
You can also get extra hearts and stamina wheels by staying at inns. Each town in the game has an inn that you can visit. While a regular stay won’t do much for you, each inn has a more expensive stay that costs a bit more Rupees.
Spending the extra money on a better night’s rest will earn you those golden hearts and stamina wheels as well.
