How to build a fire in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
To build a fire so you can throw on a cooking pot and start making some delicious dishes, you need to gather flint and wood. Once you have gathered both of these materials, go into your inventory by pressing the + Button. In this menu, go to the materials tab. Select both the wood and flint.
With the wood and flint in your hands, back out of the menu. Drop the items on the ground and hit them with a metal weapon such as a hammer, axe, or sword. This will create sparks and cause the fire to start.
You can also use fire arrows or fire fruit to ignite a fire. Once a fire is started, you can interact with it by pressing the A button. This will allow you to change the time of day. Once a fire is started, it will create an updraft that you can use to launch yourself with your paraglider, allowing you to reach high up platforms. Holding a weapon next to a fire will turn it into a fire weapon for a short time.

To obtain flint, you will need a heavy weapon. This can be obtained by using Link’s new ability called fuse. Combine a rock with a stick to make a powerful weapon that can break apart ores. Ores are typically found in caves or near cliffs. Destroy ores to collect flint to use for making fire.

To get wood, you will need to find trees. These are scattered everywhere in the starting area and there are plenty around Hyrule for you to find as well. Use a sharp weapon like a sword or an axe to chop down a tree. This will create logs. Hit a log to turn it into wood that you can use for a fire. You can also get wood by using Amiibo figures.
