How to play Diablo 4 on Mac

The latest release in the iconic Diablo franchise from Blizzard Entertainment, Diablo IV is the return to darkness fans have been craving. While the game doesn’t launch on Apple’s Mac systems on June 6, gamers can still enjoy the hellish release on their computers without having a PC. If you want to know how to play Diablo IV on your Mac, look no further.

How to run Diablo 4 on a Mac

There are three reliable ways to run the fourth part of the Diablo series for Mac users on their computers. The first way is using the boot camp method. Here’s what you need to do:

  1. Download boot camp and install Windows 11 or Windows 10 on your Mac for the best performance
  2. Launch Windows operating system
  3. Download Battle.net and install Diablo IV
  4. Launch the game

This allows you to run the Windows PC operating system on your Mac computer entirely, so you can also play other Windows-only games on your virtual PC. Make sure you have plenty of storage space on your Mac, as boot camp will take up plenty of room.

You’ll likely want to run Diablo IV on lower or medium graphics settings when using this method, as it takes a lot to run both operating systems, so this will ensure good performance. You might not see textures as well, but at least it runs efficiently. This method only works with Intel Macs, so you’ll need to try another method if you don’t have an intel-based Mac.

You can also run Diablo IV on Mac by using Shadow PC, a cloud gaming service platform that lets you run high-powered gaming PC desktop games on your Mac. You will need to purchase a subscription for $25 / £27 a month on your Shadow PC account, but once you do, just download Shadow PC client and install Diablo IV on the Battle.net platform, then launch.

The final way to run Diablo IV on your iMac or Macbook Pro is to stream it using OneCast. This method only works if you have an Xbox Series X/S and have purchased the game on the console, but it does allow you to stream any Xbox game on your computer with remote gaming. Here’s what you need to do for this method:

  1. Install OneCast on your Mac
  2. Launch the program
  3. Connect the program to the same wifi as your Xbox
  4. Sign into your Xbox profile
  5. Choose Diablo IV from your games to stream Diablo

All these methods will allow you to reliably play Diablo IV on your Mac computer. It’s unknown if Diablo IV will ever be brought over to Mac by Blizzard themselves, but for now, you can use these methods to run the game.

While Diablo IV is on a huge range of consoles, unfortunately, Nintendo Switch and Mac users aren’t seeing the game coming to them anytime soon.
