Everybody wants to be a space pirate but unfortunately, that comes with a crime stat in Star Citizen. Don’t fret, though! We have put together a brief guide on how to remove your crime stat and regain access to various locations, ensuring a smoother experience for both you and the wider Star Citizen community.

How do you lose your Crime Stat in Star Citizen?

In Star Citizen, being a known criminal with a crime stat will limit what you can do and where you can go, with bounty hunters coming after you from all angles so here is how to remove the Crime Stat in simple steps:

  1. Obtain Tigersclaw Key if you do not already have one.
  2. Head to Security Post Kareah (Be aware that the security systems here are active and will engage on sight, particularly if you have a crime stat.)
  3. Park your ship just below the large landing pad
  4. Use your EVA suit to reach an entrance
  5. Make your way to the center console
  6. Equip the Tigersclaw key.
  7. At the lower part of the console, there will be a slot that will allow the key to be inserted.
  8. The loading bar will have a few sections. Once it reaches the end of the first, you will need to interact with the screen to continue the process.
  9. Once this is complete, you can start removing your crimes from the database.

How to obtain a Tigersclaw key

Having Tigersclaw keys readily available at your main spawn location can save you time here.

First you have to collect a Tigersclaw key. You can come across an abundance of these keys in containers scattered throughout the verse. When completing bunker missions, take some time to search through the containers for keys. It’s always wise to have a Tigersclaw key handy.

Alternatively, the easiest method is a quick visit to Grim Hex the pirate hub that is situated in the asteroid belt around Yela. At Grim Hex, there is a shop that sells Tigersclaw keys. It is advisable to grab a few extra keys to keep on hand, in case you find yourself with a crime stat in the future.

How to find Security Post Kareah in Star Citizen

Be aware that the security systems here are active and will engage on sight, particularly if you have a crime stat. Once you have obtained the Tigersclaw key, the next step is to head to Security Post Kareah. Locating Security Post Kareah is quite straightforward using the system map in your Mobiglass. Access the map through the F2 key.

From there, focus on the Crusader planet system and zoom in on Cellin. You will find Security Post Kareah floating slightly above the planet’s surface. To avoid attracting unwanted attention, park your ship just below the large landing pad and use your EVA suit to reach an entrance.

What do I do at the center console to remove the Crime Stat in Star Citizen?

Now to hide your crimes. Upon entering Security Post Kareah, make your way to the center console and equip the Tigersclaw key. Find a slot on the lower part of the console and insert the key. Follow the on-screen instructions to progress through the removal process.

The loading bar will have multiple sections, and when the first section completes, you will need to interact with the screen to proceed further. You will have to remove each crime individually if you’ve racked up a rap sheet then this is going to take some time.

Now remember, crime doesn’t pay, and in Star Citizen, it’ll cost you either your bounty or the price of a few Tigersclaw Keys. The 3.18 patch and other patches since have brought several changes and updates to Security Post Kareah. With the 3.19 patch adding some major bug fixes. Security measures have been enhanced, introducing a greater variety of enemy types and more challenging AI to counter incoming criminals.
