How to activate the Ghost of Our Love quest

Ghost of Our Love is a side quest in Hogwarts Legacy, introduced to players after accepting a certain request from Ollivander in Hogsmeade. The quest itself is not particularly hard or time-consuming, but it does require solving the secret of a mysterious map to reach the correct location.

Shortly after the main story takes you to Hogsmeade for the first time, you’ll be given a house-exclusive quest that will lead to meeting the ghost, Richard Jackdaw, and finding a treasure map that begins the Ghost of Our Love quest.

Depending on which house, it will take you somewhere unique, but no matter what house you’re in, you will encounter it in your quest as the ‘Map with Floating Candles’.

The map shows four different clues:

• The forest on the left corner with a crescent moon indicates the time, which is at night.
• The Forbidden Forest entrance drawn in the top right corner of the map indicates the location.
• The wand in the middle hints at Lumos to make candles appear.
• The bridge at the bottom of the map is where supposedly the candles will spawn upon using Lumos.

To solve the treasure map, you’ll be heading to the same place as the Jackdaw’s Rest quest either way: the Forbidden Forest.

How to complete the Ghost of Our Love quest in Hogwarts Legacy

Remember we said you’d need a spell? Well, you guessed it, you’ll need to use Lumos.

You must be travelling there at night, and then you can fast travel to the Forbidden Forest’s waypoint that’s near the entrance, which is southwest of Hogsmeade on the World Map.

After that, follow these steps:

• Turn around to see a stone bridge.
• Walk towards the bridge and cast Lumos when your are near.
• Candles should now appear.
• Follow them into the Forbidden Forest until they reach a clearing full of candles and a table for two.

This will trigger a chest to suddenly appear, containing an outfit. This is the end of the side quest, Ghost of Our Love. The protagonist gets 400 Galleons and 180 XP for this venture.
