There are plenty of tactics that you can take advantage of in Street Fighter 6 to take down your opponent. Sure, you can through a bunch of punches, kicks, and toss out a few special moves, but that will only get you so far.

What some fail to realize is that Street Fighter 6 has a bit of strategy to it. Fighting games in general require some strategy to beat down your foe’s HP. Once such strategy is taunting. Luring your opponent in by mocking them. This guide will show you how to taunt in Street Fighter 6.

How to perform a taunt in Street Fighter 6

Taunts are pretty simple to perform in Street Fighter 6. To perform a taunt, all you need to do is press all of the punch and kick buttons simultaneously. These buttons are A, B, X, Y, RB, and RT on Xbox or cross, square, triangle, circle, R1, and R2 on PlayStation. Along with this, press any of the directions on the D-Pad. The different directions will activate different taunts.

Doing this will cause your character whether it be Ryu, Chad, or even your own avatar.

When you perform a taunt action, you will see a character-specific taunt. Each of the different fighters has their own taunt they will perform. Be careful when pressing the buttons, a wrong press can cause you to throw out a heavy punch or a heavy kick.

When to use a taunt in Street Fighter 6

Taunts are something that you will want to time. There is a strategy in using a taunt and, if used at an inappropriate time, can cause you to pay dearly by taking a Hadouken or a stray punch.

This form of mockery should be reserved for when your opponent is stunned. Luckily, stunning an opponent is pretty simple. All you need to do is run out their Drive Rush Gauge. Once their Drive Bar is depleted, your opponent will be stunned and you can perform a taunt.

The reason for waiting is that taunts are often very lengthy and cannot be canceled. Performing a taunt at the wrong time will leave you wide open to any attack your opponent wants to use.
