Do you want to throw every weapon you have at the zombies in Dead Island 2? Sure, it is fun to get into close-quarters shuffles with the infected but when you need your space, nothing is better than throwing a weapon at someone and making a break for it. Some survivors like Amy even get bonuses for throwing weapons at zombies. It’s a great strategy when you start to get surrounded and need some breathing room.

Pretty much any weapon in Dead Island 2 can be thrown from small knives to large hammers and pitchforks. If it can be swung, it can be thrown. You even get access to small throwables called Curveballs that provide a little extra help during a fight. Here is how you throw weapons in Dead Island 2.

How to throw weapons in Dead Island 2

Starting with weapon throwing, you can toss pretty much any weapon you pick up at incoming zombies. If you want to throw the weapon you are currently holding, all you need to do is:

• Right Mouse Button – PC
• L2 – PlayStation
• LT – Xbox

Doing this will cause you to pull back your arm and ready the throw. You will see a reticle appear to help you aim the weapon at whatever you want to hit. In order to throw the weapons, the following needs to be done:

• Left Mouse Button – PC
• R2 – PlayStation
• RT – Xbox

This will cause you to throw the weapon. Keep in mind that the weapon will drop after a while so adjust your aim accordingly.

How to throw curveballs

You get access to curveballs shortly after reaching the hotel zone. These throwable weapons regenerate and offer special bonuses in combat. Items like chemical bombs apply debuffs to zombies and items like meat bait lure them away. You can switch out your equipped curveballs by going to your inventory menu.

To throw a curveball, press the Q key on PC, R1 on PlayStation, or RB on Xbox. This will cause you to throw whatever curveball item you have equipped. After a short while, the item will regenerate and you will be able to throw it again.
