Obtaining armor with great stats that will help you win every battle while protecting yourself is beneficial until you are clad in various pieces of gear. Thankfully, by unlocking the Glamour system in Final Fantasy XIV, you can cover up your armor and keep the stats! So, follow this guide on unlocking and using Glamour in Final Fantasy XIV.

How do you unlock the glamour system in FFXIV?

To unlock Glamour, you must complete a side quest given to you by Swyrgeim. You can find Swyrgeim in Vesper Bay within the Western Thanalan region. You can reach this location using the Aetheryte network to Horizon in Western Thanalan or the Ferry Docks in Limsa Lominsa Lower Decks.

Once you have made your way to Vesper Bay, you can find Swyreim near the statue of Lord Lolorito. Next, interact with Swyrgeim to begin the If I Had a Glamour quest. You will be tasked to bring Swyrgeim Blood Orange Juice in this quest.

You can do this by speaking to Folclind at the Pissed Peiste. Then, all you need to do is interact with Folclind, who will give you the item. After this, you can return to Swyrgeim, who will award you the ability to Cast Glamour and Glamour Plates. You will also receive 12x Glamour Prism and 1x Green Beret as a reward. After this, Glamour dressers in inn rooms will become available.

Final Fantasy XIV – How to use Glamour

Now that you have completed the quest, we’ll let you know how you can use FFXIC Glamour prisms.

  • First, open the Character Menu, search for Actions and Traits, and select General Tab.
  • You can then select Cast Glamour
  • You will then have a range of outfits to apply to the base item.
  • Each time you Cast Glamour, it will cost you 1x Glamour Prism.

However, a few restrictions are placed on you when you want to Cast Glamour. First, the Glamour will only work if it is equal to or below the level of the item you apply it to. This is not a means to refer to the item level but your character level.
