Link has many new abilities in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom with Fuse being one of the best. The Fuse ability allows you to attach objects to your weapons and shields with ease and is just one of the many tricks available with the Ultrahand.
With the power of the Fuse ability, you are able to make some insane weapons that can easily take down enemies. Some weapons get special abilities from attachments. This guide will show you how to unlock the Fuse ability in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
How to unlock Fuse in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
To unlock the Fuse ability in Tears of the Kingdom, you will need to access the In-Isa Shrine. This is the second shrine you will access on the Great Sky Island shortly after completing the Ukouh Shrine. This is part of the main quest and is unmissable. Specifically, this is part of the Closed Door quest.
When you enter the In-Isa Shrine, you will be greeted by Rauru. He will grant you the Fuse ability that is required to complete the shrine. You will need this ability going forward, especially if you want to enter the Temple of Time.
You will use the Fuse ability to defeat the soldier construct in the shrine as well as collect the small key to reach the end.
How to use the Fuse ability in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
Using the Fuse ability is pretty simple. First, you need to open the ability wheel. This is done by holding the L Button. Use the right stick to select the Fuse ability at the bottom of the wheel. Once the ability is chosen, you can press the L Button to activate it.
Select the weapon you want to use Fuse on. The first weapon you will be tasked with using is a rusty claymore but any weapon can be used including a stick or a bow. Press right on the D-Pad to change your weapon.
With the weapon chosen, activate the Fuse ability and highlight an object in your surrounding that you want to fuse to the weapon. This can be a Zonai device or even a boulder. Almost any resource can be attached to your weapons.
You will see options appear at the bottom of your screen. Pressing the Y Button will attach the object to your weapon. Pressing the ZL Button will attach the object to your shield.
Fusing weapons and shields will help you complete puzzles throughout the game and can even allow you to perform feats like rocket jumps. Certain objects will grant you unique abilities.
Some objects are very useful to have on your weapons like fire fruits. These will allow you to shoot fire arrows. Rockets will allow you to ascend to various platforms and reach the tops of pillars. You can even combine weapons to create ones.
Later on in the game, you will get the Recall ability which will allow you to rewind time for specific objects. You will eventually get the ascend ability which allows you to go through ceilings as well.
