Clash Royale often goes down for scheduled updates. Whether that’s for big fixes or massive new season updates, you want to know how to get back online as quickly as possible.

Clash Royale update not working after maintenance break

While some people’s apps might update automatically, it’s not always the case or you might have the option turned off. Therefore, if you are unable to get into Clash Royale, it may be that there has been a recent update and you need to force this from your app store.

Google Play Store

If you are on Android, enter the Google Play store and click on your profile picture next to the search bar
From here, click Manage apps and devices
Next, go to Updates Available and see if Clash Royale is listed. If it is, you should see an Update button
Click Update, and you should be able to get back to defending your Towers in a matter of minutes

If app store is not showing Update option

Some users have reported that the app stores will not show the Update button when trying to manually force an update. This can usually be solved by closing down the app store and reopening it again. Follow the above steps again and you should now see the Update button.

Finally, if you are still having trouble accessing the game, it may be worth uninstalling and reinstalling. Your game progress will be saved, so nothing will be lost if you have to take this drastic measure.
