No way Jose, CSGO is the pinnacle of FPS esports, offering an exhilarating playing and spectating experience for all. CSGO is far from dead but why does the question always arise?

First released back in 2012, CSGO was in a confusing stage of its life, where CSS players were dubious of what the love of their life had become but did they simply lack vision?

Since its release, CSGO fast became ten times better than the initial version, with some incredible additions, fixes, and balances featured. CSGO even survived the arrival of Valorant, an almost identical game in terms of gameplay, that led to an exodus of pro and common players alike.

Is CSGO dead or dying?

CSGO is not dead and shows no signs of dying. In fact, the only thing that could possibly kill CSGO would be its successor from Valve.

Will there be a game to follow CSGO or will the game be perpetually updated to meet every demand and evolve over time? Who knows. CSGO keeps itself relevant, not only with its unmatched, in-game experience but with innovative ideas such as fresh maps and skins creation.

While cosmetics such as skins offer nothing more than something pretty to look at, they have pumped a lot of money into the developer’s hands and give them a stable base to consistently update and improve the game many love.

Maps on the other hand are what keep competitive games alive the longest, giving enthusiasts something new and exciting to learn/ master.

If you want any more proof, head over to Steam Charts, CSGO is the number one game on Steam, with the highest concurrent player count, highest peak players, and highest number of hours played.

We aren’t saying it hasn’t declined a bit but these mammoth numbers show you how great the game truly is. Oh, and it is free.
