Is Dead Island 2 co-op multiplayer? Many games nowadays have a multiplayer component to them whether it is player versus player or some friendly co-op.

It would be a real surprise if Dead Island 2 didn’t have multiplayer. After all, in the original Dead Island game, you could team up with up to three friends so four of you could slay zombies together. With Dead Island 2’s release date coming soon many questions are popping up.

Yes, Dead Island 2 will have multiplayer. This is great to hear and while chaotic Dead Island 2 will be, it’s satisfying to see that it’s confirmed that multiplayer will be a thing for Dead Island 2 so you’re able to escape the city and slice and dice zombies together!

In Dead Island 2, you will have six characters to choose from. That doesn’t mean that you will be playing online with five of your friends. For multiplayer, you can have two friends join you for a total of three players. Each of you will command a different survivor with their own unique abilities. While you won’t be able to have as many friends join you as in the original, having at least two friends take part in the zombie slaying is good.

How do you unlock multiplayer Dead Island 2?

As with most games nowadays, you’ll have to boot up the game and play a little bit solo before being able to play multiplayer. Here are some quickfire instructions on how to do that:

• Play Dead Island 2
• Get to the ‘Call the Cavalry‘ mission (this is later on in the game)
• Multiplayer should be accessible during this quest

You may be wondering where multiplayer is on Dead Island 2, but not worry – you need to unlock multiplayer through an in-game quest first named ‘Call the Cavalry’. From completion, the game will allow you to integrate co-op play in future quests.
