Seasons were a big deal in Diablo 3. Each season you could get new rewards for completing specific tasks in the game. Most of these rewards included armor, weapons, and cosmetics. With Diablo 4 looming over the horizon, there is a focus on whether or not the latest game in the franchise will have seasons as well.
Diablo 4 has seen multiple beta weekends to get players prepared for when the game releases in June. Many players have the gameplay down and are ready to take on whatever Blizzard can throw at them. So is Diablo 4 Seasonal? What can you expect when the game launches?
Will Diablo 4 have seasons?
The developers have already talked about what players can expect when it comes to seasons in Diablo 4. Each of the seasons will be quarterly meaning a new season will start every three months out of the year. The first season will start anywhere from mid to late July which isn’t very long after the launch.
When you start your first season and every season afterward, you will need to make a new seasonal character just like in Diablo 3. Each season will introduce new questlines and will allow you to get special seasonal content. There will also be changes to gameplay mechanics and XP gains that you will need to look out for.
Completing objectives and quests during a season will get you bonuses such as additional resource items, crafting materials, and Legendary Aspects for the Codex of Power. Make sure you can play online to participate in the seasons.
Will Diablo 4 have a battle pass?
Along with the seasons, Diablo 4 will feature a battle pass. This is typical for live-service games and was expected. There will be a free battle pass as well as a premium battle pass for those who want to get more rewards during each season. There will also be an accelerated battle pass for those who want to get through everything more quickly.
The free battle pass will allow you to the free tier items while the other battle passes will allow you to get more items out of your season journey by giving you access to the premium tiers. You will also be able to purchase boosts to get through the battle pass more quickly. Overall, there will be 63 more battle pass tiers in the premium battle pass.
