There have been many iterations of Link over the years but one thing that has stayed consistent throughout his journies is his faithful steed Epona. Epona has appeared in many of the 3D Zelda games over the years and a few of the 2D games.
Epona is so iconic that she even appeared in Hyrule Warriors to help Link fight countless foes. You could say that Epona is as iconic as Link himself. So what does this mean for the next game? Is Epona in Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom?
Will Epona be in Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom?
Tears of the Kingdom is the next highly-anticipated game in the Zelda franchise. Since this game is a direct sequel to Breath of the Wild, you can expect many of the same mechanics, characters, and scenery to appear in Tears of the Kingdom.
When it comes down to Link’s faithful steed, Epona, Nintendo has been kind enough to show Link riding a horse in the game. However, there is currently no confirmation that this is indeed Epona. Of course, it would be hard to have any other horse be in the game.
Instead of having a single horse, Nintendo could allow for multiple horses to be in the game. Odd are that Epona will be the only horse appearing in Tears of the Kingdom since she has been a symbol of Link’s courage for many years.
If you don’t want to ride a horse in Tears of the Kingdom, there are plenty of other ways to get around through means of crafting. Thanks to some of Link’s new abilities, you will be able to fuse items together to create working vehicles. Instead of traditional mounts, you will be able to ride around Hyrule in style in a car that you built from parts of the world.
