Is High on Life coming to PS5

From the creator of hit Adult Swim show Rick and Morty comes an equally comedic endeavour in the way of video game media. After Trover saves the Universe, another of Roiland’s video game ventures in 2019, we now have our eyes set on High on Life, which releases the 13th of December this year. But is High on Life coming to PS5?

Trover saves the Universe came out on PS4, PC, Oculus Quest 2, Nintendo Switch and Xbox, so the one question we can ask ourselves about High on Life is: what about PlayStation 5?

High on Life for PS4 and PS5

Unfortunately, unlike the previous title from Roiland’s studio, Squanch Games, High on Life will not be playable on this many platforms. Instead, the 2022 comedy biopunk game will be touching down mid December as an Xbox and PC exclusive release.

Fans of Rick and Morty and Trover saves the Universe will appreciate Justin Roiland’s penchant for foul-mouth meta-observational commentary and comedy, sarcastic remarks and cynical weird critters. However, apparently only a fraction will be able to experience it this time round.

Why is High on Life not on PS5?

What could only be speculation, the move to only provide the title to Xbox platforms and PC could be in part to the delays in production. Set to release first in October, but the announced on August 18th about delays till its current date, there could be something to be said about the progression of production.

As far as we can tell for other consoles like Nintendo Switch, which favours more family friendly games like Pokemon Scarlet and Violet and Splatoon 3, the graphic language in High on Life might play a role in Roiland’s creations not returning.
