Hogwarts Legacy is finally here and looks to be the next major RPG open-world game.

Set in the Harry Potter books, you get to adventure into the wizarding world through familiar locations, while bumping into magical beasts. The game allows you to customize your character, craft potions, cast spells, and upgrade your wizard however you want.

The game reviews have now been released, with Early Access on the 7th of Feb, followed by the full launch on the 10th. Everyone no matter if they own a Switch or PS5 is asking is Hogwarts Legacy cross platform?

Is Hogwarts Legacy cross platform?

Yes, Hogwarts Legacy will release on all major platforms this year, however, those on older generation consoles and Nintendo Switch will have to wait longer.

• Hogwarts Legacy will be available on the PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC platforms from February 10th, 2023.
• Those on older generation platforms such as PS4 and Xbox One will be able to play Hogwarts Legacy from April 4th, 2023.
• Finally, those on the Nintendo Switch platform will get their time to cast spells from July 25th, 2023.

Those who pre order the Hogwarts Legacy Deluxe Edition will get 72 hours of early access gameplay.

This means that those on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC platforms will be able to enjoy the game from February 7th, 2023.

Even those on the PS4 and Xbox One will be able to enjoy Hogwarts Legacy early access. The game will launch on these platforms together on April 4th, 2023.

The question of crossplay falls in line with our page on Hogwarts Legacy’s suspected multiplayer options. No, Hogwarts Legacy is a single-player experience only.

There is no online multiplayer or co-op action, so the game will not feature crossplay. Unfortunately, whilst Avalanche and Portkey Games are looking to bring the game to as many poeple as possible, through PlayStation, Xbox, PC and even the Steam Deck and Nintendo Switch too, we don’t think this means bridging the gap between players to play together.

The highly anticipated game will launch across multiple gameplay platforms, ranging from PlayStation and Xbox to Windows PC and Nintendo Switch. As such, many players are wondering if Hogwarts Legacy will support cross-progression functionality.

Likewise, based on what we know so far, Hogwarts Legacy won’t support cross-progression either, meaning you can’t switch out your console and continue from where you left off previously.

We’re more excited for this game than ever now. For the most part, we’ve had a good look at the Announcement Trailer, so let’s take a look at the Gameplay Trailer first.

This trailer gives you a 14 minute introduction into how the game is played, along with examples of the spells, potions and puzzles you’ll be interacting with throughout the game. Explore Hogwarts like you’ve never done before.

Now (below), let’s have a look at the Sebastian Sallow quest line trailer. This trailer implies some pretty cool stuff. Not only will you be able to choose from different companions, but there will be multiple questlines for you to embark on. Essentially, this seems to say that Hogwarts Legacy will give players a lot of choice, and we’re here for it.
