MLB The Show has traditionally been a PlayStation console exclusive. However, this has been changing for the past few years leading fans of the franchise without a PS4 or PS5 the ability to play the game.

Fans would obviously expect MLB The Show 23 to come out on the PS5 and possibly the PS4. Fans might even expect the game to come out on the Xbox Series X|S and the Xbox One as those consoles have received ports of the game in the past. The Switch is not the first place you would expect MLB The Show 23 to come out though. Let’s go over if MLB The Show 23 will release on the Switch and what you get with it.

Will MLB The Show 23 Release On The Switch?

While the Switch might not be the most powerful console on the market at the moment, it can still compete with the titans of the industry in terms of power. As such, it will be receiving its own port of MLB The Show 23 for fans to take on the go.

However, many fans might be worried that this port to the Switch will get them the limited version of the game that many of the last-gen consoles are receiving. Taking away access to some of the more niche features in the game like the Stadium Creator.

While we will not be able to know until the game is released, we can assume that this won’t be the case. Last year’s Switch port did surprisingly come fully packed with all the same features that you would find on the current-gen consoles versions. This does come at the cost of less-than-stellar performance though.

If you do plan on getting the Switch version of the game though, you shouldn’t be expecting performance rivaling the PS5, you are just looking to get your hands on MLB The Show 23 on the go.

Of course, you will still have the option of getting some of the various editions of the game. Just know that there will not be any dual-entitlement and last-gen versions available for the Switch.
