Long running and iconic in its own right, the Mortal Kombat series by NetherRealm Studios is ushering in a new era for its beloved franchise. Mortal Kombat 1 releases on September 19 for gamers to enjoy the new game modes, new playable characters, and a new fighting system. PC fans want to know if the game is available on the Epic Games Store and don’t worry, that’s what we’re here to tell you.
Does the Epic Games Store have Mortal Kombat 1?
Yes, Mortal Kombat 1 is on the Epic Games Store for PC fans to get their hands on. Pre-order edition is available, which will include an exclusive fighter Shang Tsung, although sadly the PC version won’t have access to the closed beta taking place in August.
Select retailers will have a Premium edition which includes extra Dragon Krystals, the in-game currency, and the Kombat Pack with playable characters, character skins (including a Johnny Cage character skin as Jean-Claude Van Damme), and Kameo Fighters, as well as a Kollector’s edition which include a Liu Kang statue, three exclusive art prints, additional Dragon Krystals and a steel case.
Mortal Kombat 1 will include an original backstory for story mode, set in a reborn Mortal Kombat universe, created by the Fire God Liu Kang. With reimaged versions of classic characters like Scorpion, Johnny Cage, Kitana, Raiden, Kung Lao, and Mileena, along with a unique roster of partner characters, new Kameo fighters who will assist you in battle, Mortal Kombat 1 delivers on fan-favorite content, along with new games modes and multiplayer, all under the standard edition content.
The pre-orders bonus also gives PC players early access on September 14, to begin enjoying the new fatalities a few days early.
Will the Mortal Kombat 1 beta be on Epic Games Store?
No, sadly the Mortal Kombat 1 beta access will only be available on the following platforms:
- Xbox Series X|S
- PlayStation 5
The full game will release on all platforms, including Nintendo Switch and PC, whether on Epic Games Store or Steam. So whatever platform you prefer to play on, Mortal Kombat 1 is happy to let you enjoy the blood and guts wherever you like.
