Over the last few hours many have experienced the R6S server issues, leaving lots of fans wondering: Is Rainbow Six Siege down? Here’s why.
The Rainbow 6 Siege team announced on Twitter today that maintenance was to be performed on selected consoles at selected times. These are set to fix critical issues such as crashing instances, crossplay lobby issues, Battle Pass preview visibility, and loss of keyboard functionality.

How long will Rainbow Six Siege by down?
As per their tweet, developers predict that the specific hotfixes for each platform should take no more than 1 hour. These maintenance times are as seen in this infographic given by the team.
As we can see, these are speedy updates to be happening all in one day, and fans are still calling for them to fix other issues like the cursor bug, too.
So, by 14:00pm UTC (Universal Time) all platforms, PC and console should be rid of these pesky issues!
What is the Hotfix for Rainbow Six Siege?
The most recent Hotfix occurring today (7 December) whilst the servers are down is meant to be fixing some rather critical issues experienced by players currently. This Hotfix will target four main issues. It is set to fix critical issues such as crashing instances, crossplay lobby issues, Battle Pass preview visibility, and loss of keyboard functionality.
The Rainbow Six Team are working tirelessly around the clock for players today to fix these issues as they pose some threat to the functionality of the game. From what we can tell, they are confident that they will be able to resolve these problems across all the platforms R6S is available.
