The Resident Evil 4 Remake is one of the most anticipated games of this year – and is already gathering rave reviews from the community (some people are reporting that it’s unlocking early).
The game, which can be played right now via a preview called the Chainsaw demo, is set to arrive this week on current gen consoles – the PS5, Xbox Series X as well as PC and the last gen PS4. Expect the PS4 version to be parred down visually compared with its successor, though.

According to Capcom, the Resident Evil 4 remake ‘preserves the essence of the original game, while introducing modernized gameplay, a reimagined storyline, and vividly detailed graphics to make this the latest survival horror game where life and death, terror and catharsis intersect’.
The third-person camera view returns, ditching the first-person viewpoint of Resident Evil Biohazard and Village, in order to keep the experience as true to the original as possible.

So, do you need to buy the game in order to play it or will it be arriving to services such as Games Pass? Here’s everything you need to know… spoiler alert, be prepared to be disaspointed!
Is Resident Evil 4 coming to Xbox Game Pass?
The short answer is no. There are no plans to bring Resident Evil 4 to Game Pass at least any time close to launch. There is a glimmer of hope, though, in the form of Monster Hunter Rise – another title published by Capcom – which made its way on to the service earlier this year.
Other Resident Evil games also made their way on to the service in time. For example Resident Evil Biohazard was on Xbox Games Pass for a while before it was removed.
The only way to play the full game would be to buy the version appropriate for your console or PC – we have listed some of the options below.
