Is Star Wars Jedi Survivor on PS4? The game is mere days away so players on Sony’s slightly older platform might well be wondering: is Star Wars Jedi Survivor on PS4? With the game seeming so advanced, many fans are worried that it will not be coming to the previous generation of consoles, like the PS4 and Xbox One.

And, since Fallen Order was such a big hit, many fans are looking forward to what Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is going to bring to the table. The combination of a souls-like system in the Star Wars universe is a first for the franchise and a breath of fresh air, and players on all platforms are interested in starting another adventure into a galaxy far, far away.

Is Jedi Survivor Coming To PS4?

No, Star Wars Jedi Survivor is not going to be on PS4. The original game, Jedi Fallen Order, came out on both the PS4 and PS5, which is why a lot of gamers seem to be expecting to see Survivor on the last-gen console, but sadly it’s not the case. It seems as though this is the line in the sand that EA is drawing for the older generation of consoles, as Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will only be coming to the current-generation of consoles. This means you will only be able to play Jedi Survivor on the PS5 or Xbox Series X|S (or PC, of course).

While you won’t be able to play on the PS4, getting the game on PS5 will let you have a higher quality experience due to the power difference between the two consoles. It has also reached the point that the older generation needs to be phased out. This is the same with the Xbox One version of the game also.

This is a tragic blow to fans of the franchise that enjoyed the original Fallen Order and are unable to play Survivor until they get a current-generation console. Even Xbox Game Pass users will have a hard time getting their hands on the game soon after the release. It does however make sense as current-gen begins to become more mainstream, and today’s games require a bit more horsepower to make them run well.

Why is Star Wars Jedi Survivor not on PS4 or Xbox One?

Respawn have mentioned as to why Star Wars Jedi Survivor is not on PS4 or Xbox One. This, according to one source mentions that game director Stig Asmussen mentioned that with the exclusion of PS4 and Xbox One launches, they could focus on areas such as a larger map, greater density, broader enemy and NPC variety

It does seem that the decision to only have Jedi Survivor on next-gen only was purely for resources reasons, and creates extra space for them to create a more complete game with a linear port of platforms.

Will Jedi Survivor be only on PS5?

Yes, Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order will only be on PS5 – in terms of Sony’s home consoles. This is a truly current-gen game and EA has decided to skip PS4 and Xbox One machines.

Why isn’t Jedi Survivor on PS4?

A good question, but one that can likely be answered relatively simply: in order to make the game as advanced, feature-filled, and spectacular as they wanted to, EA and Respawn likely made the decision to concentrate on the greater power available in the newer, latest consoles.
