The Zelda franchise has a lot of goddesses but none are as important as Hylia, protector of the Triforce. Over the years, we have gotten to meet multiple goddesses of Hyrule such as Din, Nayru, and Farore.

The goddesses of Hyrule are meant to represent the aspects of wisdom, courage, and power. Their power keeps the reincarnation cycle going. Hence the reason why you always fight Ganon in his different forms. Is the Goddess in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom?

Will Goddess Hylia return in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom?

Long ago, the Goddess Hylia aided her chosen hero by crafting the Master Sword. Inside the sword is the spirit known as Fi which gives the blade its power. Almost always, the sword is found in the Temple of Time.

There is no guarantee that the Goddess Hylia will appear in Tears of the Kingdom. The Goddess didn’t appear in the last game, Breath of the Wild so it doesn’t look too good if you base it off that. However, BotW didn’t have a broken Master Sword like TotK does.

Since the Master Sword is broken in Tears of the Kingdom, this could lead to the Goddess returning as a means of reforging the blade. After all, you will need it if you hope to defeat the reincarnation of Calamity Ganon from Breath of the Wild.

Through gameplay trailers, the Goddess has not made an appearance but that doesn’t mean she doesn’t exist. After all, the Sacred Tears appear to be back from Skyward Sword.

Who is Hylia in the Legend of Zelda series?

Hylia is one of the main Goddesses of the Legend of Zelda series. She is the one who crafted the Master Sword that you use throughout all of the games. She is also the first being to seal away the Demon King Demise.

The Kingdom of Hyrule is named after Hylia. Despite not making a physical appearance in the games, some games have statues of her similar to how Breath of the Wild had statues around Hyrule Castle.

How Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Could Improve the Goddess Hylia’s Role

Hylia could be making a return in Tears of the Kingdom and perhaps even appear amongst the sky islands. She could be used to reforge the Master Sword and could also be used as a means of ending the reincarnation cycle by permanently sealing away the new iteration of Ganondorf.

Each game offers a slight bit of backstory to the Goddesses. For instance, Ocarina of Time explains how they created the land of Hyrule.

Hylia may have been spotted in the Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Final Trailer

One of the many trailers for Tears of the Kingdom may have shown off Hyalia in a physical form. The character in question looks to be from a tribe. A few things to note about her character are that she only appears for a brief moment and seems to be wearing a necklace with a Sacred Tear.

This new character stands out from the rest as being another Hylian and bears a resemblance to both him and Zelda, giving a strong indication that this could be Hylia. Perhaps Nintendo with reveal more about this character in an announcement before the game releases. Until then, Link has plenty of new abilities to look into.
