Is the Punisher worth it in Resident Evil 4 Remake?

The Resident Evil 4 Remake is filled with different guns for you to try out from simple handguns to high-powered rifles. The weapons you bring with you affect how you play the game. Because of this, it is important to bring the best gear possible with you if you want to bring Ashley back alive. One of the many handguns in the game is the Punisher. This powerful pistol has a special perk that not all of the guns have, but is the Punisher worth it in Resident Evil 4 Remake?

How to unlock the Punisher in Resident Evil 4 Remake

It is difficult to guess whether or not a weapon will be worthwhile without trying it out. You can hope for the best and possibly be disappointed by the results. Starting in chapter 2, you can purchase the Punisher handgun from the merchant for 5 Spinel. If you haven’t collected any Spinel yet, this currency is awarded by completing requests for the merchant.

Since Spinel isn’t the most common currency, it is okay to be hesitant on spending it. The Punisher does have some worthwhile stats, however. At base, the Punisher has the following stats:

• .90 Power
• 12 Ammo Capacity
• 1.10 Reload Speed
• 1.05 Rate of Fire
• 4.50 Precision

While the Punisher does have weaker stats than some of the other handguns starting out, it makes up for it by having a special ability shared by only one other weapon in the game; penetration. The penetration ability allows the bullets of the Punisher to travel through up to 3 enemies. This is perfect for when you are dealing with large crowds of foes.

Once you are able to fully upgrade the Punisher, it will have the following stats:

• 1.90 Power
• 24 Ammo Capacity
• 1.50 Reload Speed
• 1.91 Rate of Fire
• 4.50 Precision

The stats of this pistol are comparable to the stats of other handguns once fully upgraded. You can increase the gun’s penetrating power, allowing it to penetrate up to 5 foes with a single shot – perfect for later areas in the game. These stats make the Punisher a contender for one of the best weapons in the game.
