XDefiant closed beta is finally here – and you can find out how to get a beta code here. Developed by Ubisoft, the team behind Assassin’s Creed and the newer Far Cry games. The brand new free-to-play shooter puts players into an area where to compete to the best in fast-paced online matches.
There are a number of maps and modes available in the closed beta. Arena modes sees teams compete in arena-style maps, battling for territorial control in Domination and Occupy modes, with more modes to come at launch.
Elsewhere, Linear modes see attackers and defenders contest shifting objective points in Zone Control, and push a package in Escort. All of these modes take place on maps from popular Ubisoft worlds alongside all-new original maps. But can you play with friends on other consoles? Is XDefiant crossplay?
In short. Yes! According to Ubisoft. This means you’ll be able to play with gamers on other platforms. There is also cross progression, so you’ll be able to transfer your progress from one platform to another so long as you have an Ubisoft account.
The beta follows a Cross-play Insider Session, which happened in February where Ubisoft asked for player feedback. As per their website, they were specifically looking for feedback around the following:
- Was it easy to connect and play with friends on multiple platforms?
- How does the console experience feel?
- How would you rate the overall Cross-Play experience?
- Does the game run and perform as you would expect? How is the controller experience?
All of this will help improve the experience ahead of the game’s launch.
How to create an Ubisoft account
Creating an Ubisoft account is incredibly easy! All you need to do is follow these steps:
- Visit the Account Management website.
- Select Create an Account.
