Throughout Star Wars Jedi, you’ll encounter many Floating Balloons or Ascension Cables. Not only will these floating apparatuses assist you in your journey by helping you make your way across large spaces, but it’s also a fun way to get around. Using this ability in the game will be extremely helpful to get you from A to B. So, follow this guide explaining how to use the Floating Balloons in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor.

To use this new grapple, hold and release to use the grapple on the Floating Balloons. If you’re unsure how to use this, head to your Settings tab and go to Abilities. This tab will show you how to use various abilities, including the Upgraded Ascension Cable. So, if you need more assistance, now you know where to go!

Once you make your way out of the Observatory, you will immediately have a chance to try out your new upgraded Ascension Cables. Think of it like a tutorial where you can get comfortable using the Floating Balloons. Once you’ve mastered the art of the Ascension Cable, you can carry on with the story.

How to upgrade the Ascension Cable

As mentioned earlier, these Floating Balloons, or grapples, are an Ascension Cable. As such, over time, you may need to upgrade them. However, once you acquire the use of the grapple cable, you will only be able to use upgrade the Ascension Cable later in the game. Therefore, to use the Floating Balloons in Star Wars Jedi Survivor, you must make your way to the Shattered Moon a second time.

This is where you will be able to upgrade the Ascension Cable. After that, you must go to the Observatory Workbench in the Republic Research Laboratory and interact with it. You will then see a cutscene of your Cal fiddling on the workbench. Once the cutscene is over, you will get a screen that says Upgraded Ascension Cable.
