Abyss Dungeons are some of Lost Ark’s most difficult, yet rewarding, pieces of end game content. The majority feature two or three boss fights or “gates”, all with unique mechanics you will need to master. These gates are separated by areas filled with enemies and sometimes mini-bosses, although these are much less of a challenge than the gates themselves. Abyss Dungeons require four to eight players to enter depending on which dungeon you are attempting.

Each Abyss Dungeon requires a good amount of cooperation, understanding of boss mechanics and skill. Taking on these challenges with an understanding of the mechanics beforehand will save you time and lives! If you have a party that is willing to read a guide or watch a video as well, perfect! For convenience, we have linked all the Abyss Dungeons we have curated guides on to help you along your path of item level progression.

How to unlock Abyss Dungeons

You must be combat level 50 and complete the Waiting and Leaving questline in North Vern in order to unlock Abyss Dungeons. Waiting and Leaving is part of the main world questline so you should have no trouble completing it and unlocking Abyss Dungeons. Once they are unlocked, you can start your first of many dungeon crawls from the Abyss Dungeon marker in any major city. If you need more players, you can use the “matchmaking” or “find party” features to quickly group up.

Once when you have unlocked Abyss Dungeons, it should be available for your entire roster on the server. You will then find a variety of Abyss dungeons that unlock at different item level thresholds that equip with you with a variety of items once a week, along with extra sources of gold, up to six a week per character.

Tier 1 Abyss Dungeons

Ancient Elveria – Item Level 340+

Lost Ark Demon Beast Canyon

Lost Ark’s Tier 1 Abyss Dungeons give players a flavour of the challenges and mechanics that lie ahead. The difficulty ramps up quite quickly with stagger checks and wipe mechanics being introduced. If you need help with a specific dungeon check, check out our individual guides by following the links below.

Demon Beast Canyon

“The roar of a best filled with rage resonates in the valley”.

Bosses: Corrupted Vazuela, Vile Scarkill

Necromancer’s Origin

“A gloomy necromancer’s ambition covers the ruins”.

Bosses – Reanimated Garum, Sigmund the Immortal

Phantom Palace – Item Level 460+

Lost Ark Hildebrandt Palace Abyss Dungeon

The Phantom Palace is the next set of Abyss Dungeons for players, and they are significantly harder than the first two in their mechanical requirements.

Hall of the Twisted Warlord

“In the arms of chaos, dreams begin to twist”.

Bosses: Phantom Legion Rook and Bishop, Phantom Legion King

Hildebrandt Palace

“Hildebrandt Palace slowly reveals itself in the deep abyss”.

Bosses: Phantom Legion Queen, Brelshaza

Tier 2 Abyss Dungeons

Tier 2 Abyss Dungeons are where the intensity ramps up. Tranquil Karkosa and Alaric’s Sanctuary especially have some tough cooperative mechanics. We cover all of them in the guides below so be sure to check them out and save yourself (and your party) a few deaths!

Ark of Arrogance – Item Level 840+

Lost Ark Road of Lament

Road of Lament

“The glory of the past is shattered, and sighs resonate in vain”

Bosses: Nazan, Kyzra

Forge of the Fallen Pride

“The Umar’s pride fell, leaving only repentance full of grief”.

Bosses: Amaus, Kaishur

Gate of Paradise – Item Level 960+

Lost Ark Alarics Sanctuary

This set of Abyss Dungeons introduces an underwater setting with an oxygen mechanic that players will need to keep track of throughout. These underwater dungeons tend to be the first dungeons you will need eight players for, rather than the usual four you find in the other tier abyss dungeons in Lost Ark.

Sea of Indolence

“When an intruder appeared, the calm sea began to shake”.

Bosses: Deep Sea Orboros, Indolence Sentinel Akam

Tranquil Karkosa

“The screams of protectors come from deep in the ruins”.

Bosses: Kallivan of the Eroded Storm, Karkosa’s Punisher, Karkosa Monarch Draikhan

Alaric’s Sanctuary

“Guardian Alaric is protecting the Gate of Paradise somewhere here”.

Bosses: Witch of Enchantment Sarahiel and Nightmare Incarnate Belloc, Alaric

Tier 3 Abyss Dungeons

In Tier 3, Lost Ark introduces a hard mode option for the two available Abyss Dungeons. The item level requirements are different depending on which difficulty you want to run the dungeon in and you will need to have completed the dungeon on normal in order to unlock hard.

Oreha’s Well

Aira’s Oculus (Normal) Item Level 1325+. Aira’s Oculus (Hard) Item Level 1370+

“Arsenic of madness resonates in a space filled with chaos”.

Bosses: Frenzied Cicerra, Lost Seto

Oreha Preveza (Normal) Item Level 1340+. Oreha Preveza (Hard) Item Level 1370+
