This ironclad warrior is armed with a shield and sword, which is also a gun. This juggernaut will come to help his allies, while still pulling out decent DPS to help chunk down even the mightiest of demons. This Lost Gunlancer class guide will teach you all the basics you need to know. We will cover the most common skill usage in an end game build that makes it the off-support god it can be. Meanwhile, we will offer an indicator of its gameplay style, and other useful information that you will need as you approach the end game. 

Lost Ark Gunlancer Build

The interesting part about the most common Lost Ark Gunalncer build is that it uses two-class engravings. All this means is that there are two class specializations if you will, and the Gunlancer uses both of them, rather than focusing on one. What this means is that you lose your offensive identity skill, in favour of more crit chance and damage. In addition, you also specialize in using your shield up identity skill, which grants you bonuses for empowering your shield and more.

Lost Ark Gunlancer Identity Skill

Like most classes in Lost Ark, the Gunlancer uses two different skills for its Identity. There is a jump in and dive, dealing AOE damage while you remain in the position that knocks enemies up in the impact zone. Meanwhile, there is the shield, which grants you a huge shield bonus, and makes you immune to almost every CC.

However, due to your class engravings, it is very unlikely you will use the damage based class identity, thanks to the lonely knight class engraving.

Lost Ark Gunlancer skills and tripods

Below is an example of the Lost Ark Gunlancer skills you want to use. These skills allow you to deal damage, along with using your skills to deal damage in both a single target and AOE capacity. Moreso, these skills help to grant CC, and party-wide utility and tanking mechanics for whatever situation you find yourself in. Moreso, these skills are pretty useful for PvP, making this class very easy to transition to PvP and PvE.

It is worth mentioning that you can always swap out a few of your skills here and there if you wish. There is also a blue skill build, which makes you more of a DPS rather than a support build. It does quite a lot of damage, but you may have your party moan at you for the lack of shielding. But, you can always blow them away with the damage numbers. Albeit, this build is incredibly rare to see. This build is not covering this, as it is not that popular, to begin with.

Lost Ark Gunlancer Awakening skills

The Lost Ark Gunlancer Awakening skills fit the role of that great saviour knight. There is the Guardian’s Protection, which summons a giant shield in an area, protecting your allies from negative and status effects, and reduces damage taken by 40%. Meanwhile, it also stuns all enemies in the area for four seconds.

The other Awakening skill is called Holy War. The Gunlancer throws a holy spear at the target location, dealing damage to those it hits. Allies within 10 meters of the spear gain 10% crit chance for ten seconds.

Both are great skills, depending on your playstyle. In PvP, you may use the Guardians skill to keep your allies alive in clutch situations, or use the spear to create a kill window and lock down the opponent to make sure your party stays in the range of the buff.

In PvE, you can use the Guardian as part of your guild or party progression. You never know when you may need to save someone’s life with it. If you’re with a familiar guild that knows their stuff, then throw that spear down and coordinate it with other damage and crit buffs to nuke the baddies.

Lost Ark Gunlancer Engraving

The most common Engravings you will find on any Lost Ark Gunlancer build is the Master Brawler. Your character does a lot of attacks that land on the target. Therefore, this engraving makes it easier for your damage to shine. You also want Super Charge, which is an engraving that bolsters your charged skills. Remember, you have Gunlance and Charged Strike, which both are your primary DPS skills that require charging. It is highly recommended you run these engravings if you go for this playstyle. 

After that, you want the typical DPS engravings, Grudge and Cursed Doll. You want as much damage on your foe as possible while bolstering your crit since lone knight makes it much easier to reward your crit damage. The good news is you don’t have to worry about the damage taken increase from Grudge since you are a tanky ironclad boy with a gigantic shield as your identity skill.

If you really wanted to double down on the support playstyle, you could take Expert. This engraving enhances the power of healing and shield. Since you have a few skills that provide shields, this helps a lot. However, there should be a Bard or Paladin in the group to manage that. If not, then you may want this to make your party happier about the situation.

Lost Ark Gunlancer Runes

The main runes you want for your skills are primarily damage and cooldown reduction runes. These runes are important for your playstyle, which means you get to do damage more often and do more of it. The other gems you want are charged runes. These make it so you can increase the charge speed of your charge up skills mentioned above.
