Infinity Ward’s Modern Warfare 2’s beta is just around the corner, and with the beta on the horizon, many people are asking what the beta download size may be.

Thanks to the release of the preload, we can now figure out the size of the PS4/5 versions of the beta.

Let’s take a look at all the information we have on the MW2 Beta download size.

On 14 September 2022, Activision made the preload for the MW2 Beta go live. If you’ve preordered the game on PS4 or PS5, you can now download the beta ready for the servers to go live on 16 September.

Thanks to the PlayStation store download, we can reveal the beta sizes to be :

  • PS4: 30.57 GB
  • PS5: 27.58 GB

While we still know the size of the PS5/4 versions of MW2 beta, we’re still unsure about other platforms. According to scrapers, Modern Warfare 2’s beta size was looking to be in between 15GB to 30GB, so presumably, the Xbox and PC versions will fall somewhere in that range as well.

However, it seems that EU may have the biggest download size, with Japan having the least. This looks to be a switch from the previous year, having US being second and now coming third.

It’s also a massive increase from Vanguard’s 8GB from the Beta last year in 2021, which could hint at either a higher level of graphical fidelity, or a lot more content than previous betas.

Call of Duty Vanguard Beta Download Size

Last years Call of Duty, Call of Duty Vanguard’s Beta released on September 10, 2021 and ran for similar duration to this year’s Call of Duty: two weeks.

The following download sizes for Vanguard’s beta last year was as follow:

  • US: 8.4GB
  • EU: 8.9 GB
  • Asia: 8.3 GB
  • JPN: 8.2GB

Last year, there was slight differences depending on your region, so this may occur similarly with Modern Warfare 2 this year.

It’s to be noted that Infinity Ward is following a similar schedule to the previous Call of Duty with their beta rollout, with weekend one being a PlayStation exclusive and the second being all platforms.
