Season One of MultiVersus is fast approach – we’ll discuss the release date and further details in preparation for the big update!
MultiVersus has been available to play since July 19, 2022 when it launched on Early Access.
Since then, the game has seen it’s open beta phase window open which was launched on July 26, 2022.
There is currently 15 free tiers and 15 premium tiers which indicates that this is not a full battle-pass yet.
This could be due to the fact that the open beta will be treated as a preseason phase.
It’s expected that Warner Bros / Player First are using this phase to make tweaks, nerfs and buffs to prepare for Season 1.
When the full season launches, it’s expected that the game will launch a full-sized battle pass to participate in

When is MultiVersus Season 1? Date REVEALED
*UPDATE as of August 4, 2022* MultiVersus Season One has been delayed indefinitely, there is no news on the next date however it is expected to launch on similar times compared to open beta and early access timings.
*UPDATE as of August 12, 2022*: MultiVersus is looking to launch on August 15, 2022! Following the initial delay from August 9, developers are now focusing on the new date of August 15.

What’s expected for Season 1?
Once Season 1 has officially launched, it’s expected that the battle pass will be a lengthy 50 tiers to enjoy from.
*UPDATE as of August 4, 2022* It’s confirmed by game director Tony Huynh, it’s confirmed that the Season One battle pass will have 50 tiers with an additional 950 gleamium! A nice goodie to add alongside it.
New content will be expected from the developers, this will most likely come in the form a Season 1 Day 1 update, so be on the look out for that!
Having a short battle-pass will allow the developers to see how function the current system without the need to put pressures on players to finish it, they’d rather practice the players first!

New characters for MultiVersus Season 1?
Following LeBron James’ entrance to MultiVersus on July 26, 2022, that was not the end of all the upcoming characters!
At SDCC (San Diego Comic-Con) alongside LeBron James confirmed was also Rick and Morty!
It’s expected that Rick and Morty will see their debut a week after Season One begins on August 23, 2022.
The excitement from a possible DLC from the developers is nothing but just a dream currently.
There are no plans to release a DLC currently, however it’s assumed that it’s planned that developers are currently working on the roster expansion.
It already seems that MultiVersus has already included Rick and Morty into the database, following a weird glitch a player encountered playing the game, he took to twitter to exploit it and show!
Bugs are bugs at the end of the day, however it’s almost certain that Rick and Morty will be joining the game and it’s plethora of characters on the new date revealed by Warner Bros after it’s news of delaying.
UPDATE: New characters have been teased by Warner Bros! Those characters are Black Adam and Stripe.
What is the community expecting?
Taking to Reddit, the MultiVersus community have made great predictions of characters who could see their debut onto the arena fighter in the upcoming months.
With the likes of Aquaman, Scooby-Doo, Dexter, Daenerys Targaryen, The Mask and even Michael Jordan!

There is no definite answer of more characters outside of Rick and Morty, however, it’s excited to see the possibility of a plethora of characters to be added into the mix.
The community are already excited for the potential of adding new characters which has saw concepts of what new characters could look like with their respective abilities – very cool!
Will there be any changes?
For the most part, no. Drastic changes will most likely not happen following the Taz nerf that rolled out shortly after open beta started.
However, developers have mentioned that Wonder Women will receive a buff after EVO 2022 which begins on August 5, 2022 and ends on August 7, 2022.
It could be anticipated that Wonder Woman’s buff may come AFTER Season One is launched and through a post-launch update which looks to make her stronger.
Wonder Woman is currently a good pick, however she doesn’t fare against stronger tanks such as Superman and can be squishy at times when front lining for the team.
The update hopefully looks to change her abilities are some are very slow at times.
Also, our beloved Bugs Bunny is receiving a post-EVO nerf too sadly, mentioned game director Tony Huynh.
Bugs Bunny mains brace yourselves as these nerfs could significantly reduce elements such as projectile damage, speed.
Season One Roadmap Revealed
Of course, ranked will see it’s debut in this season following Rick and Morty but a few more goodies are on the horizon including a new LeBron James Robin themed cosmetic!
Lead developer, Tony Huynh confirmed that these features will definitely see it’s debut within season one!

With almost 3,000 upvotes – it’s confident that the MultiVersus community is comfortable with this leak as now.
From this data mine, it seems that the plethora of characters to be added is rather exciting!
From Johnny Bravo to Daenerys Targaryen to even Ted Lasso!
The possibilities are never ending and whilst no announcement has said, the community is excited to see how the game unfolds as seasons and months progress.
Is there a potential character reveal?
Prior to the launch of MultiVersus on August 15. Game director, Tony Huynh teased that characters to be coming soon will be landing on the home page once Season One has launched!

Unfortunately, as of right now there is no expected release date for a Nintendo Switch port release.
