Here’s a comprehensive MW2 map list for you. The amount of maps available in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is slowly growing with each season, so there’s no surprise that more multiplayer arenas are on the way in MW2 and Warzone 2 Season 5. There are now so many maps, that it’s getting hard to keep track of which maps reside in each mode.

There are many new maps that are meant to be big enough for players to play all kinds of modes in, like the new Big Capture the Flag and Gunfight Variants, or to drive new vehicles on. Activision has been busy getting plenty of new content ready for players and has released a massive pit of information for the release of Season 5 in their official blog post.

Below we have all the information you need on the new maps found in Season 5 of MW2 and Warzone.

MW2 Season 6 new maps

There are four new maps in Modern Warfare 2 Season 06:

  • La Casa (Core): A luxurious estate in Mexico with a dual-wing layout. There should be crossfire between the separate wings of the estate, and multiple opportunities to ambush enemies.
  • Koro Village (Core): A winterized version of the desert town Toujane from Call of Duty 2. You can fight in the streets or move from building to building, clearing out the opposition. Yellow ladders offer access to the rooftops, where makeshift ramps connect buildings for easy travel.
  • King (Gunfight): A fan-favorite Gunfight map from Modern Warfare 2019 is returning. Sprint up over the central deck, funnel it into one of the side containers or try for an early elimination by firing from behind the shooting target walls.
  • Fight (Gunfight): A new Gunfight map that offers a different firing-range experience. Move through various shoot houses featuring extreme close-quarters engagements. Use shoot houses three and four to get above your enemies and use one and two to fight them on the ground up close.

And two reskinned maps for the Halloween event:

  • El Asilo (Core): To celebrate Día de Muertos, Activision reskinned the El Asilo map. Large calaveras stand outside the asylum, looking over the festivities. Other painted and neon skulls decorate the landscape alongside marigolds, candles, and altars that honor lost loved ones.
  • Embassy (Core): Conduct an evening operation on the Embassy following a gruesome zombie attack. The message “Send Help” hangs from the rooftop, but apparently, the zombies have already left after doing their damage.

All these maps are available regardless of your platform, so even on PC, you’ll get what a PlayStation player gets.

Modern Warfare II complete map list

Currently, the Modern Warfare 2 map list is broken down into three sections. Gunfight maps, core maps, and battle maps.

Gunfight Maps are new for Modern Warfare 2 and are designed around the Gunfight game mode that was released back in Season 3. These are close-range 2v2 maps, designed for high-intensity gun-fights. Cover is the name of the game here, with plenty of objects to hide behind and peek from. The new maps include a game room, a balcony, a brewery, and more for fast-paced combat and domination of the small-sized map:

  • Alley
  • Blacksite
  • Shipment
  • Exhibit
  • Penthouse
  • Mercado
  • Lounge – added with Season 5
  • Canal – added with Season 5
  • King – added with Season 6
  • Fight – added with Season 6

Next, we have the Core Maps, these are the maps you are most likely to play on in your average game. They are suited for most 6v6 game modes and can even house 12v12 matches if you want some chaos to happen. The best maps are the lot are Crown Raceway, Taraq (perfect for those with marksman rifles or who prefer long-range combat), Shipment (highly intense, close-quarters combat), and Mercado Las Almas. It can sometimes feel like attacker vs defender because you’ll need to turn your assault rifle to full-auto to win. Here are the core maps in Modern Warfare 2, available to play right now:

  • Al Bagra Fortress
  • Breenbergh Hotel
  • Crown Raceway
  • El Asilo
  • Embassy
  • Farm 18
  • Mercado Las Almas
  • Santa Sena Border Crossing
  • Taraq
  • Zarqwa Hydroelectric

  • Alboran Hatchery
  • Vondel
  • Punta Mar – New with Season 5

Finally, we have the Battle Maps. These are some of the largest maps available in MW2 and are meant for the big 32v32 game modes like Ground War. While you won’t come across these maps too often, some of them do have parts of core maps in them. There are the maps where you rely on your Supply Boxes and wish you were in Ashika Island or Al Mazrah’s Hafid port. Here is the full list of Battle Maps in the game:

  • Guijarro
  • Sa’Id
  • Santa Sena
  • Sariff Bay
  • Taraq
  • Al Malik International
  • Zaya Observatory
  • Rohan Oil
  • Sattiq Cave Complex
  • Ahkdar Village
  • Mawizeh Marsh

No new Battle Maps were added with Season 5.

The list of maps continues to grow with additional maps coming during each season. There is still plenty of other content to check for Season 4 when it releases.
