The dream for any Modern Warfare 2 player is to experience a glitch or exploit that gives them more XP. This kind of thing is normally patched up too quickly for the majority of players to experience, but being the first one gives you bragging rights.

A players in MW2 has ultimate bragging rights as being the first, and probably the only person to get Double XP for over 50 years. Most players would keep this to themselves, but Reddit User u/Bravo-Warpig posted a screenshot on Reddit.

MW2 Double XP Glitch

Bravo-Warpig played through a match as he regularly would and just came on to see that he had a crazy amount of Double XP for Ranked and weapons. The user didn’t have an active Battle Pass, so that was not affected. To be precise:

  • 193460D 10H 11M of Double XP for Ranked
  • 19346D 2H 39M of Double XP for weapons

Many commenters immediately started chastising Bravo-Warpig for telling on himself. Just as many said they wouldn’t have publicized this glitch and just enjoyed the benefits. Others were surprised that PlayStation users receive 25% bonus experience.

Not many felt the need to ask how this could be done. The user definitely had a few DMs asking how it was done so that Activision couldn’t patch the issue before they got to it.

As great as this sounds, it was not meant to be. This is a visual glitch, as the user reported that it went away after the next round.

The user was unable to replicate the glitch again. It was clear that the glitch was gone and wasn’t coming back anytime soon. It was a one-off occurrence that may not get seen again.

Knowing that this can be done, it’s clear to assume that many players will try to find out what that user did so they could replicate it themselves. A visual glitch has to be activated in some way, and maybe someone with an active battle pass could benefit from this kind of glitch.
