MW2 and Warzone 2 Season 3 release date

The new season of MW2 and Warzone 2 will be coming, today, April 12. This was confirmed with a teaser video released on the official Call of Duty Twitter, and Raven Creative Director Ted Timmons confirmed its arrival would signal a ‘new dawn’ for the game.

We previously predicted it would launch on the same date as the battle pass for Season 2 is set to end on April 11. As mentioned above, you’re able to preload MW2 Season 3 on PS5 too, here’s how to preload too just in case you’re stuck!

What time does MW2 Season 3 Start?

Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2.0 season 3 launches on Wednesday, April 12, 2023 simultaneously all around the world. Here’s when it will release in your time zone:

• 10AM PT for the west coast of North America
• 1PM ET for the east coast of North America
• 6PM BST for the U.K.
• 7PM CEST for Western Europe / Paris
• 2AM JST on April 13 for Tokyo

According to the official blog post for season 3, Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 Season 3 will launch at 1PM ET and 10AM PT on April 12 for those in the US. Remember, this is the start time – not the preload time which should drop beforehand.

MW2 Season 3 release time UK

The above US times mean that season 3 is going to launch at 6PM BST on April 12 in the UK – but keep your eyes peeled for the preload time that will come earlier.

MW2 Season 3 release time Europe

Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 Season 3 will launch at 7PM CEST on April 12 for gamers in Europe – but, again, watch out for the preload time dropping before.

MW2 and Warzone 2 Season 3 Battle Pass

As is the case for every season, there will be a new battle pass which will arrive as the new season launches on April 12. Enter BlackCell, a brand-new Battle Pass Offering launching in Season 03. This will replace the current Battle Pass Bundle and features a new Automatic Pathing feature if players do not want to manually traverse the map.

The BlackCell Battle Pass, which costs $29.99, will include over 7,000 COD Points of value, everything that was originally in the Battle Pass Bundle, along with additional exclusive content. Here’s what to expect as per the official blog:

• Access to the full Season 03 Battle Pass and 20 Tier Skips (25 on PlayStation).
• 1,100 COD Points instantly awarded.
• Up to 1,400 COD Points awarded throughout the Battle Pass.
• A BlackCell Operator, attired in an imposing animated Camo skin.
• A Pro-Tuned Weapon Blueprint, Vehicle Skin, and Finishing Move.
• An exclusive BlackCell Sector within the Battle Pass AO serves as an alternative starting location.
• Immediate unlocking of adjacent Battle Pass Sectors to the BlackCell Sector.
• Additional, BlackCell-only Battle Pass content: Every Season 03 Battle Pass Sector with an Operator Skin has a BlackCell variant (12 Skins in total) to unlock.

It’s worth noting that the regular Battle Pass will still be available each season for 1,100 COD Points. There is also a new recruit a friend feature – which rewards players who bring new gamers to the Call of Duty community. As per the official blog: “Anyone who has at least three hours played on the game and has an account older than 60 days can invite up to three eligible friends per season.” Note, there are some regional restrictions.
