Modern Warfare 2 players are asking for a crossover between two beloved game modes. That is a huge ask, but it looks like it’s gaining steam. Activision is doing what it can to keep Call of Duty interesting, and it’s not above a studio looking to fans for guidance.

Best game modes to merge in Call of Duty

Shipment 24/7 is an iconic playlist for Call of Duty. Plenty of fans have loved this for multiple reasons. Its tight combat mechanics and well-designed maps have made it a staple in nearly every recent Call of Duty game.

Face Off mode has is loved by fans of hardcore mode. This multiplayer mode returned earlier this year in MW2. It pits two teams of three against each other on smaller maps, engaging in respawn modes such as Team Deathmatch and Domination to determine the victor.

So close-quarter combat seems to make fans happy. One user took to Reddit to show their idea and it took off.

The compact size and frenetic pace of Shipment, coupled with the intensity of Face Off would be an incredibly fun and fast experience every round.

The poster made a comment that really summarizes why this would be loved:

“Chaos, and trying to gain some control over that chaos, is my ultimate FPS fun time.”

Some players would rather have more strategy and a slower pace than this would bring, as the idea did have its opponents, as one commenter put it:

“Because I want to place my mortar strike on the enemy location and have the spawns flip and get killed by own streak for over 40 seconds.”

You can’t make everyone happy with every idea. The developers have an opportunity to at least test this out. We say try it for a weekend and see how many people like it. Otherwise, we know more great ideas will come from the community.
