Ever since next-gen consoles came onto the scene, sports games have gone above and beyond with what they’ve chosen to integrate into those next-gen editions of the game. In NBA 2K23, this really came to life as 2K Games illustrated the lopsided differences between the experiences you can enjoy depending on the console generation you own.

From game modes to new features, the next-gen version of NBA 2K23 is quite special and has easily made the latest installment of the franchise as desirable as it has been. It’s not that the game is bad on current-gen consoles. It’s just that the level of immersive play and features available in the next-gen version of the game, is starkly different and far better than what is offered on current-gen.

With these new, next-gen editions becoming more popular, it has posed the question whether PC players will have the opportunity to enjoy the same luxuries that are on the PS5 and Xbox Series X.

NBA 2K23: Is next-gen on PC?

In short, NBA 2K23 next-gen play is not available on PC. The only console generations that allow for next-gen play are the PS5 and the Xbox Series X. This is largely due to the fact that the PS5 and Xbox Series X provide the power, speed, and technology for the game to function at its best.

However, NBA 2K23 did state that next-gen play is a possibility they would like to look into and add into future copies of their hit NBA game. But for now, PC players will only have the current-gen version of the game to play on.
