There are some new operators that may come in the form of very popular streamers. The part that confuses everyone is that they aren’t streaming Warzone gameplay as much as they used to. NICKMERCS and TimTheTatman might come to the Call of Duty roster.
New operators for Call of Duty MW2
As found by CharlieIntel, dataminers found references to making skins for NICKMERCS and TimTheTatman. This means that we may see skins of the two popular streamers
This is strange because they don’t really play the game anymore. In fact, NICKMERCS actively badmouths Call of Duty, as found in this tweet.
While TimTheTatman’s YouTube is filled with spectating videos instead of gameplay videos. He mostly plays with Dr DisRespect, but he doesn’t venture into the game alone as often as he used to.
So no OpticGaming skins, like Scump, but instead streamers who might be actively avoiding playing Call of Duty on their stream. This may remind players of Fortnite and how they make Icon skins from popular streamers and celebrities. The last one was Kevin Durant, someone not even affiliated with the series.
This may be Activision’s way of getting players to return to the game through skins to unlock. The game has been suffering from players leaving, and without a boost in revenue from Microsoft’s acquisition, they may be trying to patch up the income from the series.
However you want to take it, many fans view this as strange and have taken to Twitter to talk about how it is weird that Activision didn’t get skins from streamers who are well-known for the series. Someone like Dr DisRespect, Zlaner, or JGOD would make more sense.
As we mentioned before, they could have chosen well-known tournament players like Scump or Aydan. At least then they could have gotten people who love the tournaments or like to watch streamers, yet they chose two people who aren’t as popular for Call of Duty as they used to be.
We’ll see if that works out.
