New World 1.0.5 patch notes: Gold sellers banned and major weapon system changes revealed

It’s that time of the week again. Amazon Games has dropped the New World update 1.0.5 patch notes, informing of us this week’s latest changes. This week’s New World patch notes are rather bonkers, with Amazon showing their iron fist over the recent gold dupers bug. Many accounts have been advertising gold in-game, so they have swung their banhammer at gold sellers too, adding to the corpse pile of gold dupers from the previous week. Moreso, Amazon has included some rather major weapon functionality, affecting the Life Staff and1x2 weapon builds.

New World Gold Selling

Amazon Games is pleased to announce that the coin seller population in New World has fractured, getting devastated in the process. Thousands of players have gone out of their way to report thousands of gold sellers across every server and region. Those whose reports are legit have now found themselves in front of the Bezos battering ram, having their empires collapsed in moments.

Moreso, the logistics behind gold selling is now even harder. Players below level 10 cannot trade coins with other players, or the account is less than 72 hours old. It won’t stop gold sellers, but an extra two roadblocks will surely help slow it down. Finally, Trading Posts can only get accessed as part of the tutorial settlement missions. You will need to complete the introduction to the Trading Post before your character can open it up.

On a final note, the New World Duplication exploit should now finally be over. The issue is over a storage shed and crafting station. Players were once using items in their storage shed to continuously craft items at crafting stations, resulting in an almost infinite supply of items.

New World Combat changes

Amazon Games has finally decided to pull the plug on single weapon builds. No more can healers run two Life Staffs, Fire Staffs, or whatever else. We thought the entire time having two of the same weapon was silly and wondered when it was going to get addressed. However, the decision to finally pull the feature seemingly coincides with the rapid firing Life Staff and Fire Staff bug introduced by accident in 1.0.4. If there is any coincidence there we’ll leave it up to you to decide.

The other major change coming in the New World 1.0.5 patch notes is the reduced cost for attribute and weapon mastery respecs. The attribute respec cost is now 60% cheaper, while weapon mastery respecs are 75% cheaper. It is now much more viable to swap your build around, offering players plenty of opportunities to try out different builds and playstyles while the content drought comes into effect.

New World Patch Notes 1.0.5 addresses bugs

There are some major bug fixes in the New World patch notes for 1.0.5. The most important one of them all is the resilience perk. The perk was intended to only reduce the amount of crit damage you took by the amount of percent you had on your gear. However, it turns out it was reducing that much damage on top of how much your armor resisted anyway. This is now addressed, which may somewhat ease the heavy armor meta, especially with how popular the Voidbent armor has become with its resilience perk.
