Now that many players are starting to reach the end game, one of the most popular areas on Aeternum is Shattered Mountain. The Shattered Mountain is the home of the Corrupted forces on Aeternum. Players will venture into the Shattered mountains for a variety of reasons. One of those reasons is a place called Myrkgard.
New World’s Myrkgard is one of the most densely populated areas of corrupted elites, with the settlement filled with chests, caches, and many big bads that you’ll want to kill. Why you may ask? Well, there are plenty of great opportunities and crafting mats to get a hold of. Here we detail the area and what you can expect in our New World Myrkgard walkthrough.
Myrkgard Portals T4 -T5 disabled
Before we go any further, Amazon Games have disabled some of the chests spawns around Myrkgard due to higher than intended drops. Amazon Games announced the decisions on the forums, so it is worth keeping an eye on the thread to see when they come back online. While the portals are turned off, it makes Myrkgard an unviable area to get the materials you need to create tuning orbs, which you need to get into expeditions like the Garden of Genesis, Dockyard, and other end game expeditions and arenas.

New World Myrkgard zone walkthrough
Myrkgard is located at the very top of the Shattered Mountain. There are several entrances to the site, which Corrupted Ogres gleefully guard. They are some of the toughest mobs in the area, so be ready for a fight to access the site.
Once when you’re inside, you can run around, killing some of the hardest mobs in the game. However, you’re best off avoiding the big elites like the Corrupted Captains, as they tend to be more hassle than anything else.
When you’re inside Myrkgard, the zones aim to farm corrupted portals and loot elite chests and caches. There is a chance you can get 580 gear score items, along with legendary weapons and max tier crafting items. Moreso, the area aims to farm so you can continuously make your tuning orbs for dungeons like the Garden of Genesis once you go in after completing the quest. Farming end game expeditions and arenas are among the best ways to get gear, hence the need to farm higher tier corrupted portals in areas like Myrkgard.
While you’re exploring New World’s Myrkgard, you will come across a variety of T3 chests, but you may even find T5 Elite chests. You’ll also want to kill bosses like Archmagister Vocus near the Opulence, along with Artifex Faetum in the Upper Hollow. Looting and killing these have a chance to drop 600 Gear Score items, along with legendary schematics that you can later craft.
As you can see, this is a very important place to farm for your end game progression. We recommend grabbing at least four other players so you can effectively farm the area for the best possible drop chance. Oh, and one last thing, remember to bring some form of corrupted potion. The area is filled with corruption that constantly harrassed your corruption resistance. You cannot farm this area without plenty of corrupted potions.
