It is no secret that New World is Amazon Games’ flagship title, with work going onto it for many years. At first, it was a survival game, aiming to compete with Rust and Ark, with even more hardcore PvP. However, in December 2019, Amazon Games announced that it was switching to an MMORPG. Eighteen months later, the game is now released, with over 700k playing the game.

Those playing the game are messing around with all the New World weapons currently in the game. However, this is not the full catalogue of weapons. Over the years, New World weapons have shown off plenty of weapons that are not in the game at the minute. Moreso, there are datamined weapons that are new to even fans of the game’s early development.

New World Datamined Weapons

The New World datamining weapons source is over a year old, with many discord leaks, spreadsheets and string data from alpha patches indicating other weapons exist. Since the New World weapon determines are over a year old and the game out, we can speculate that some of these weapons may be on the sideline or completely sunsetted, as the game has launched. 

However, quite a lot of these leaks were correct, with the fishing system only getting added in the Closed Beta, well over a year before it was officially confirmed. However, during the New World beta, we got potential data mines from strings in the game files, including some abilities. We have compiled a list below of the New World datamined weapons not featured at the launch of New World, as some were correct: 

• Daggers
• Pistol
• Void Gauntlet
• Halberds
• Blunderbuss
• Club 1h/2h
• Angry Earth Staff
• Long Sword
• Pole Arm

The string value section is already partially correct. The Pirate-themed skin listed in the spreadsheet is now available via the Prime Gaming rewards. However, some of these weapons could just be skins for weapons like the musket or one-handed sword and shield, while some, like the Void Gauntlet, seem more legit with weapon skills including. The Void Gauntlet even has weapon abilities such as Decaying Orb, which deals damage over time and reduces overall damage reduction, think Fortify but reversed.

However, some of these weapons fill a niche currently not in the game. There is not much tanking variety for the shield, so a one-handed club work with a shield for some tanking variety. We know for certain Amazon Games were working in maces since they had concept art for them from 2019. Clearly, there’s a legit reason to speculate these weapons could be on their way to the game sometime soon.
