Apex Legends from Respawn Entertainment is always keeping content fresh with its seasonal model. This allows for more content to be added to keep players interested, and the next update is on the horizon.

While this means the end of the Arsenal Season, fans won’t be left in the dark, as the new Season 18 will begin to take its place. There will be a new battle pass, new balance changes, and more as a free update to the game.

When is the next Apex Legends update to bring Season 18 to players? That’s what we’re here to let you know. We’ve got all the details on when you can see the next update right here.

When is the next update for Apex Legends?

The next update for Apex Legends, the Season 18 update, will take place on August 8. Season 17: Arsenal ends on August 7, as confirmed by the official website for the game, and the expiration time on the battle pass found in-game. The update will take over right away because there are no gaps between seasons in Apex Legends.

This update will bring the new Season 18 content to the game, as well as:

  • Balance changes
  • Bug fixes

These updates are so the game remains functional to play, and so you don’t run into a bunch of glitches in battle royale, ranked mode, team deathmatch, and more. All the changes made can be found in the patch notes released with each update.

What is in Apex Legends updates?

Apex Legends updates contain more than just bug patches and balance changes but also include all the new content for the next Apex Legends season. While this varies from season to season, this can include a new Legend, a new weapon, and plenty of new cosmetics to enjoy. Previously added Legends like Mirage and weapons like Nemesis and Flatline were all added as part of seasonal content.

Limited-time modes like collection events are also added during updates, to add some variety to the battle royale game and let players try out different modes and objectives.

The updates are released simultaneously on all platforms, including PC, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch. No one console gets any perks or head starts. The update is available to all at the same time.
