Apex Legends Season 14 is almost coming to an end. And usually, when battle royale games, especially Apex Legends, are about to reach a season finale, they tend to have many lore-related updates. 

We had a recent update (patch 2.06) on September 29th. However, there are chances of getting more updates soon.

Especially considering that we’re about to enter October, the month of Halloween, we can likely expect some spooky updates and different game modes to match the Halloween spirit! 

When is the Next Apex Legends Update?

In short, the next Apex Legends update will be on Tuesday, October 4th and will kickstart the limited-time events for October’s Fight or Fright event that will continue till November 1st.

The major upcoming updates will take place in the next 3-4 weeks and are all related to Halloween while also introducing some iconic limited-time events (LTMs).

The Fight or Fright event happened last year as well. However, unlike last year, there is a chance that there might not be any thematic events, and the primary focus would be on sales and game modes.

All these modes will be added through further updates, especially the skins. Therefore, we will be discussing the relevant dates of these dates and events.

Limited-Time Events

Throughout October, there will be different LTMs each week. They’ll change weekly and will follow different playstyles and much more.

Shadow Royale

The first LTM will start on October 4th and continue till October 11th. The LTM in question will be Shadow Royale which will take place on the Olympus After Dark map.  

If you’re unaware of what happens in Shadow Royale, you can choose a legend just like in regular games. However, upon death, you get revived as a shadow. Your shadow has enhanced abilities such as faster movements, running on walls, double jumping, and reviving knocked-down enemies.

The main aim of shadows is to ensure that their teammates don’t get killed, but if all the teammates become shadows, the whole squad gets eliminated. 

The game mode will also return from October 25th to November 1st. The second time it comes around will make it the last LTM of the Fright or Fight event update. As it ends, Apex Legends will transition to its 15th season!

Gun Run

The second LTM will begin on October 11th, right as Shadow Royale ends, and end on October 18th. The LTM will be Gun Run on Estates After Dark, Fragment East, and the Skulltown map.

Gun Run in Apex Legends is a team-based approach to Gun Game. You get to play with every weapon in the game in sequence as you take out different opponents. And after you kill enemies with every weapon in the game, you finish off with a special attack! 

Control

The next LTM update will be from October 18th to October 25th. Taking place in Lava Siphon, Barometer, and Labs After Dark, you’ll get the chance to experience Control.

Control is perhaps one of the most popular modes of Apex Legends. It is essentially like capture-the-flag but with new elements. Two teams of nine players play against each other in hopes of capturing 3 set points. 

New Skin Additions in the Update

The upcoming updates will not just consist of different LTMs but will also introduce different skins you can purchase from the store while enjoying certain sales. There will be six different new skins added:

• Bladed Wanderer (Seer)
• Static Spike (Wattson)
• So Serious (Caustic)
• Deadly Teddy (Revenant)
• Inner Demon (Ash)
• Steampunk Speedster (Octane)

There will also be some returning skins from previous years. However, they won’t be available throughout the event. You’ll have to tune into specific dates, usually corresponding to the active LTM, to get your hands on them. But if you’re looking for Voidwalker (Wraith), Memoir Noir (Pathfinder), or the many other skins, you’ll finally get a chance to get your hands on them.
