Whether you’re the person who’s excited about Overwatch 2 or simply couldn’t care, we’re getting more content and more details on the overall game. Starting with character reworks. Blizzard seem to be reworking a large majority of their characters, updating their appearances and giving them all new abilities.

The first to get this rework is none other than the controversial Bastion.

Original Overwatch players will remember just how much terror Bastion could cause. Once upon a time, the walking min-gun had his own shield (whoever thought that was a good idea has hopefully gone through a game design course again). And although it seemed like Bastion seemed to finally reach some form of balance, he’s been given completely new and – possibly overpowered – abilities.

Overwatch 2 Bastion Rework Overview

Firstly, Bastion has been given a slight re-design. One that makes him a little taller as well as more colour focus. He also seems to be made out of more sleeker and modern materials and metals. And we can’t forget his little Torbjorn hat either.

Bastion Reworked Abilities

Removed Abilities

  • Bastion can no longer self-repair
  • His Ultimate is no longer his tank-mode.
Bastion OW

New Abilities for Bastion

  • Alt-Fire Ability: Explosive Projectiles that can bounce off walls and stick to players. Dealing AoE damage.
  • New Weapon Fire: No spread when firing but reduced fire-rate. This gives him much better range and can act partially like a sniper (although considering they nerfed McCree for this very same thing in early OW, I doubt this’ll stick around long).
  • New Ultimate: Artillery mode, can select three points in the map to drop AoE bombs. Players have 6 seconds to choose, leaving their Bastion vulnerable during this.
  • New Sentry Form: Whilst in Bastion’s Sentry mode, he can move around. Albeit at a slower rate. The Sentry mode also has a cooldown time not, to limit use.
