The Pokémon Go Community Day is a recurring monthly event. One Pokémon will be featured and highlighted world-wide. September 2021’s featured Pokémon is Oshawott, the adorable little water starter from Unova.
As part of Community Days, players will see increased spawns of Oshawott for a limited time, and give them an exclusive Community Day move for their final evolution, Samurott – and several other bonuses you can take advantage of during the event itself.
When is the September Community Day?
Oshawott Community Day
September has seen the Season of Mischief and the Psychic Spectacular, next up in terms of special events is the monthly Pokémon Go Community Day. On Sunday, September 19, 2021, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time, the little otter Pokemon will be appearing more frequently in the wild and near PokéStops with Rainy Lure Modules.
How to Evolve Oshawott
With 25 Oshawott candies, you can evolve it into a Dewott. After which, evolving Dewott during the event or up to two hours afterward to get a Samurott that knows the Charged Attack Hydro Cannon. Samurott will also be able to learn its signature attack, Razor Shell, via Charged TM during and after this event.
How to catch a Shiny Oshawott
With the Community Day will come a hoard of Oshawott, therefor a higher chance to catch a shiny Oshawott. Oshawott will be no different than other shiny Pokémon (looking at you Shiny Ditto). So bear in mind these important things:
A shiny Oshawott will not appear ‘shiny’ when on the map.
You have to tap on the Oshawott, engage it in the catch-screen and only then will you see if it’s a shiny.

Features
Oshawott will be appearing more frequently in the wild! It will also be attracted to Rainy Lure Modules. If you’re lucky, you might encounter a Shiny Oshawott!
Evolve Dewott (Oshawott’s Evolution) during the event or up to two hours afterward to get a Samurott that knows the Charged Attack Hydro Cannon.
Samurott will now be able to learn the Charged Attack Razor Shell. This attack will be available for Samurott to learn even after the event has concluded.

There’ll be a special one-time-purchase Community Day Box available for 1,280 PokéCoins, featuring 50 Ultra Balls, five Lucky Eggs, five Rainy Lure Modules, and an Elite Fast TM.
You’ll be able to get Oshawott-inspired stickers by spinning PokéStops, opening Gifts, and purchasing them from the in-game shop.
For US$1.00 (or the equivalent pricing tier in your local currency), you’ll be able to access the Oshawott Community Day–exclusive Special Research story, From Scalchops to Seamitars. This Special Research will include a Rainy Lure Module as one of its rewards.
