If you’ve ever experienced a Pokemon game before, you should know that as the Pokemon in your party level up, they not only become stronger, they also learn new moves which they can take into subsequent battles.

With Pokemon Legends: Arceus, this is similarly the case, with options opening up for you as you use your Pokemon in both battles and to collect materials. What is a little tricky though is where to actually find the option to change your Pokemons’ moveset. It’s not how you would typically expect the process to go and the method isn’t exactly given to you as you start your Hisuian adventures.

Below, we talk you through what you need to do for switching up your Pokemons’ moves so that you don’t get caught out when battling some fearsome Bidoof out in the open wild.

So, you’ve got to the point where your Pokemon, while increasing in level, have moves that are not strong enough to get the job done. As previously stated, you can change a Pokemons’ moves akin to what you’re probably used to in other games in the franchise.

However, the method of doing so has changed so when you don’t get the prompt to change a move as you level a Pokemon up, there’s no need to worry.

To change your Pokemons’ moves, simply open up your bag by pressing Up and hover over the Pokemon who’s you’d like to change. Press A and then select the ‘Change Moves’ option. Once in this screen, select the new move you’d like to add to your Pokemon’s arsenal and swap it with one that it already has.

Contrary to older Pokemon games, you can swap these moves freely without running the risk of losing them for good. This is an excellent new feature and one that will certainly take the fear out of potentially making a mistake that you’ll regret for the rest of your adventure.
