Pokemon Legends: Arceus is all about creating the world’s first Pokedex through exploration of the Hisui region by sneaking around and throwing as many Poke Balls as possible. As you’ve got nothing really to go off, it’s all about getting yourself out in the open world and coming face to face with whatever Pokemon you can find.

With this being a whole new region added to the franchise, don’t just expect the usual suspects to be appearing in the Pokedex this time around though. There’s not only new Pokemon to discover, there are also Hisui specific variants of some Pokemon that we know and love, similar to that of what was introduced in both the Galar and Alolan regions.

Below, we’ve detailed a full list of the Pokemon you can expect to see and catch in Pokemon Legends: Arceus with accompanying Pokedex numbers. This will enable you to quickly find out all about what Pokemon you’re missing for completion in an easy-to-read, numbered format, almost like a checklist you can tick off even before the game tells you what’s on offer.

Being the first Pokedex created, the Pokemon Legends: Arceus variant does look a little different from the one you’re used to seeing. First off, it’s a book, no fancy screens showing all the Pokemon data, and there’s not a bunch of in-depth stats to run through. Instead, you’ll be able to see the Pokemon’s preferred foods, its habitat, and any research tasks associated with it.

Now, without further ado, here are all the confirmed Pokedex entries for Pokemon Legends: Arceus so you know how great the undertaking is before traveling around Hisui and being overwhelmed by the sheer number of wild creatures.

How many Pokemon are in Pokemon Legends: Arceus?

Pokemon Legends Arceus cheapest pre order

As you can see from the above Pokedex entries, there are 242 confirmed Pokemon available in Pokemon Legends: Arceus which a little on the light side in comparison to previous entries in the franchise. However, the game is set far in the past where Pokemon are only just being discovered and therefore having 350+ Pokemon to finish the Pokedex would really make sense lore-wise.

On the other hand, this is only the base Pokemon Legends: Arceus Pokedex and if there are any DLCs released in the same vein as Pokemon Sword and Shield, which added more Pokemon thus increasing the Pokedex size, it could increase the cap with this title. Who knows, maybe some fan favorites from the Kanto region might make an appearance? We can guarantee they’ll be no questions asked if we get to see some Charizard action that’s for sure!

Also shown above are all the new Hisuian Pokemon that you can net yourself if you look hard enough. We can imagine that Growlithe, Arcanine, Voltorb, and Electrode will certainly be sought after not only for their battling abilities but also to experience their slight type changes. Hisuian Voltorb, for example, it has a new Grass type added which everyone needs to experience at least once.
