As this is a game that features Dialga and Palkia, as well as time travel, you’ll be unsurprised to learn that the game also has a feature that has you interact with the time-space-continuum directly!

You’ll be introduced to these without actually being introduced to them as a mechanic, but essentially a dome will appear in the area and will remain there for about 5-10 minutes in total. At the start of it appears it’ll be exactly the same as normal, but with some lightning strikes happening, but if you wait around for a little while, you’ll be suckered into a distortion, which spawns high-level and rare Pokemon that are incredibly annoyed to see you.

This is part of our ongoing Pokemon Legends: Arceus guide series, with everything to do with the game and more – including Pokemon Go – all living in our dedicated hubs for the games

For example, in the Obsidian Fieldlands, you’ll find a lot of Onix, Steelix and Sneasles, all out of character for that locale. While I don’t recommend you go in with your starting party all at a meagre level 20 or whatever, as you progress you’ll be able to go toe-to-toe with the beasts.

Pokemon I’ve found in there have been Leafeon, Sylveon, Alpha Gengar and a lot of Lickilicky.

Chasing down these events can be a great help in collecting Pokemon that evolve via specific conditions, as I’ve acquired both Steelix and Electivire, as well as a variety of the Eevee evolutions. It’s also great to grind out levels for your party, as well as the Pokedex.

An unexpected boon of the distortions is that they hold a lot of evolutionary materials, which originally you’d give to your party before a trade to get the end result. Things like Upgrades and Protectors can be found just on the floor, along with nuggets and stardust.
