Niantic have announced that Pokémon Go Safari Zones will be making a return. Players were disappointed to find that Safari Zone events were cancelled in 2020, but it’s not exactly surprising, considering the global pandemic. Now though, Safari Zones will see a welcome come-back.

In the next couple of months, three locations across the world will host the Pokémon Go Safari Zones.

‘Trainers,
We know how meaningful and rewarding it is to connect and explore together in the real world through our live events. That’s why we’re excited to announce new dates for the Safari Zone events originally planned for 2020!’

Covid Safety Measures

As many are still struggling with Covid, Niantic have established a few Covid precautions for the Pokémon Go Safari events.

While Niantic isn’t enforcing the use of face-masks, they are making people aware that in this kind of event and with this number of people, there is a risk of exposure.

In addition to this, they have set the spin distance for Gyms and PokéStops was to 80 meters, allowing for more spacing.

The number of cases and the pandemic is ongoing, Niantic have said they will notify all ticket holders whether the event is cancelled or not. In the meantime, it’s got the green light!

Niantic have asked that all ticket owners RSVP, to better plan ahead and have a better idea of the number of participants.
