Pokémon Unite Attack vs. Special Attack
What are the differences between Attack and Special Attack (Sp.Atk) in Pokémon Unite?

Pokémon Unite, the popular MOBA game from Tencent and Timi Studios handles Pokémon growth and combat in a different way to the mainline console MonColle roleplaying games.
Put simply, Unite differs from other Pokémon games in that the Physical or Special Attack stat is decided on a per-Pokémon basis instead of a per-move basis. No matter what moves you select, the attack damage type will depend on the Pokémon’s species, rather than the move type. This means that moves like Flamethrower that do special damage in the mainline games sometimes won’t match in Pokémon Unite, where Charizard is a physical-using Pokémon.
Which stat Pokémon use is important to know, as you can’t change a Pokémon’s attack type. There are also Held Items and Battle Items which are stat dependent and can be crucial in turning the tide of battle.

What are Basic Attacks and Boosted Attacks in Pokémon Unite?
The Basic Attack is the regular attack and unlike other moves will almost always use the physical stat. You use it on the Switch version by pressing the A button. Instead of a third Basic Attack a Pokémon will usually use a Boosted Attack, which will do higher damage and be the Pokémon’s primary damage type. If that happens to be Special Attack then the move will use Special Attack instead.
This means that the Muscle Band would raise the damage on 2 out of 3 attacks from any Pokémon, regardless of which type of attack damage they do with their special moves.
