How to Catch a Shiny Uxie in Pokemon Go

Shiny hunting is a fun past-time for some and a tedious grind for others. Pokémon Go features a large number of shinies that you can encounter in different ways. You can find them in the wild, in raids or as part of events or research projects. However, when it comes to Shiny Legendaries, things take a little turn.

This will be the first time since the game’s launch that the Lake Trio will be shiny! Niantic have let us know that the Lake Trio can be shiny!

“Depending on your region, Uxie (Asia-Pacific), Mesprit (Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and India), or Azelf (the Americas and Greenland) will be appearing in five-star raids from Tuesday, September 14, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. to Friday, October 1, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. local time. For the first time ever in Pokémon GO, you might find a Shiny one, if you’re lucky!”

But considering that, here’s a few things to bear in mind:

  • The Shiny rate from Legendary raids is around 1 in 20.

That might seem easy enough, but of course it’s not that easy. The trade-off is, of course, legendary Pokemon have limited accessibility. Trainers can only raid one a day, it requires several people to beat Tier 5 Raids, and even with multiple teammates, it’s difficult to take down Tier 5 Raid bosses consistently.
